We are proud to announce the opening of our new Mat Class Studio at the Arcadia location. This newly remodeled 1000 square-foot studio space is conveniently located directly next door to the Arcadia Private studio at 4422 E. Indian School Road, Suite 103.

About Matwork

Joseph Pilates first defined his series of 34 specific exercises to be performed individually, on a mat, without aid or assistance from any machinery or equipment. Originally called Contrology, Joseph Pilates defined it in his own words (in his 1934 book entitled Your Health):

"It is the conscious control of all muscular movements of the body. It is the correct utilization and application of the leverage principles afforded by the bones comprising the skeletal framework of the body, a complete knowledge of the mechanism of the body, and a full understanding of the principles of equilibrium and gravity as applied to the movements of the body in motion, at rest and in sleep."

The STOTT PILATES® method has updated Pilates' original teachings to include modern knowledge of the body while furthering his visionary work of these pure, unaided movements performed on a mat.

Our Studio

Our class schedule features:

  • Private, focused, clean studio atmosphere
  • Class size kept small to ensure precision, correction and attention to individual students
  • Pure STOTT PILATES® mat work for all levels
  • Classes include use of small equipment such as stability balls, Fitness Circles, BOSU trainers
  • We feature the TRX Suspension Training® system which uses unique equipment at a single-point anchor to effectively train using one's own body weight. We are the only studio in Phoenix teaching this type of fitness training in combination with Pilates principles.
  • ALL classes are taught using Joseph Pilates' original principles and the STOTT PILATES® principles of neutral body alignment, and control from deepest muscles of the abdominals, back and shoulder girdle.
  • We offer a variety of class times, ranging from early morning to evening, and more classes will be added as needed.
  • Taught by our experienced, educated teaching staff.

***Students new to STOTT PILATES will be required to take at least one private Mat session with our teaching staff in order to enter the class schedule.

***Current Pilates Body clients may join classes at any time.

Class Rates

Mat Privates
One session:  $55
(Initial session includes postural evaluation, coverage of STOTT PILATES principles and introduction to Mat exercises)

Three sessions: $150 (recommended for new students)

Mat Classes (maximum 5-6 people per class):

$150 for 5 classes
$275 for 10 classes

Pilates-Based TRX/Pilates STRETCH (maximum 8 people per class):

$125 for 5 classes
$225 for 10 classes

Cash or checks please. 24-hour cancellation notice required to avoid full class charge.
